SOBOTA P.L. is an aviation law firm based in South Florida that has successfully represented clients in a wide range of aviation matters, the sale and purchase of flight schools, the operation of aviation businesses, compliance with regulations, all aspects of owning and operating aircraft, and resolving pilot licensing and medical certificate issues. The firm has years of experience as a fixed-base operator outside counsel handling all related legal matters, hangar leases, fuel purchase agreements, contract negotiation, preparation, and review, maintenance and repair services, and lien enforcement through levy and sale.

An aviation education combined with more than 40 years of flying experience provides a unique basis for understanding complex aviation legal matters. Peter Sobota, the firm's managing partner and lead counsel, earned a degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Magna Cum Laude) with a minor in Aviation and Aerospace Safety. He holds a commercial pilot certificate with instrument, multiengine, and high performance ratings, and is a licensed Part 107 small unmanned aircraft systems (drone) pilot. He is the 2024-2025 Chair of The Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee, was named a 2024 Aviation and Aerospace lawyer by SuperLawyers, and is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which recognizes the highest level of professional excellence for legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards.

Peter Sobota is a Board Certified Aviation Attorney who began his law practice in a prominent Fort Lauderdale law firm before founding the law firm SOBOTA P.L. and launching Aviation Law Florida. SOBOTA P.L.'s South Florida office is located in Davie and features convenient access from all Fort Lauderdale and Miami airports. The firm also has satellite meeting and conference room facilities in downtown Fort Lauderdale and Miami Lakes. Mr. Sobota is a pilot and a Board-Certified Specialist in Aviation Law who specializes in aviation transactions, regulatory compliance, and litigation. He has represented major institutions in a wide-range of matters and has a wealth of transactional and litigation experience.
